Non League Weekend Round Up

Ebbsfleet United escaped the relegation places as a late Nathan Elder penalty in the dying minutes completed the comeback against Macclesfield Town.

The Fleet had Phil Walsh (57) to thank as he levelled matters following a first half Chris Holroyd strike for the home side.

Dartford were, meanwhile, held to a 2-2 draw with 20th-placed Southport.

Elliot Bradbrook (17) opened the scoring but the Sandgrounders were soon on level terms through Steve Akrigg (21). Bradbrook (pen 33) added a second from the penalty spot but Karl Ledsham (90) ensured a share of the spoils in stoppage time.

In the Conference South, Welling United picked up all three points as Ross Lafayette’s 85th-minute strike condemned Darrell Clarke’s side to their third defeat of the season at Park View Road.

This means the Wings remain in fourth position with 25 points from 14 matches.

Billericay Town consolidated their mid-table position with a solid 1-0 away win at Bromley.

Jay May (18) proved to be the match-winner for the Blues which leaves Craig Edwards’ side sitting in 11th position with 21 points from 14 matches. Meanwhile, the Ravens are just above the drop-zone in 19th having collected 16 points from 14 matches.

Tonbridge Angels played out a tight 1-1 draw with Hayes & Yeading United at Longmead Stadium.

Former Gillingham midfielder Mark Bentley (60) gave United the lead before Rory Hill (73) equalized for the Angels. Tommy Warrilow’s side currently occupy 13th position having collected 20 points from 16 matches while Nas Bashir’s side are in tenth with 21 points from 14 matches.

Boreham Wood won 1-0 against Dover Athletic away courtesy of Ben Jefford’s 32nd minute strike.

The result sees the Whites occupy eighth position with 22 points from 14 games.
